The Force Altarpiece

Description

By God, I'm finished. Three Star Wars movies and a sore shoulder and hand later, I'm finished.

A project for Italian Renaissance Art History. Instead of writing a paper art majors (me) could do something a little more to our strengths, as long as it showed that we understood the fundamentals of ItRenn art. This Altarpiece, while having some traits of earlier painters like Duccio and Giotto, it's heavily based on Bellini's Frari Altarpiece. :)

This was originally meant as an Altar To Metal, but after being so indecisive about the Madonna and Child versions, I went with what I knew more -- Star Wars.

I know things are off, anatomy, perhaps lighting, blah blah blah. But I'm quite proud as, out of the figures, I've only ever drawn Qui-Gon.

Left to Right:
Aayla Secura
Yoda
Shmi and Anakin Skywalker (adult-baby)
Mace Windu
Qui-Gon Jinn

So there you have it. :horns:

Haha, awesome! I love all of the "adult babies" in Renaissance art!

Great triptych, Em!
*has nightmares about annunciation paintings for a month*
